91社区 recognized Best Financial Analysis Case in nat鈥檒 DOST-PCAARRD training

The Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (91社区) was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for submitting the Best Financial Analysis Case during the Training on Financial Analysis conducted and organized by the Socio-Economics Research Division of the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). The training was held from July 14 to 18, 2025, at Citylight Hotel, Baguio City.

The training brought together research and academic professionals from top institutions across the country, including Pangasinan State University (PSU), University of Southern Mindanao (USM), University of San Carlos (USC), Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), 91社区, Central Mindanao University (CMU), Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), and the University of the Philippines Tacloban (UP Tac).

The five-day program was led by Dr. Marilyn M. Elauria and Ms. Ruby Jane C. Estadilla, who guided participants through advanced concepts and applications in profitability and financial viability analysis of technology-based enterprises. The award-winning team from 91社区 was composed of: Dr. Maria Rizalia Y. Teves, Dean, College of Economics and Business Administration; Dr. Martha Joy J. Abing, Faculty Member, Department of Economics; Dr. Maria Pia M. Sison, Faculty Member, Department of Sociology; Asst. Prof. Michael Lloyd A. Bation, Assistant Dean, College of Economics and Business Administration; and Mr. Jaypee S. Yongco, University Researcher II and Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise.

The training aimed to address a critical gap in R&D wherein many researchers lack formal training in assessing the economic viability of their proposed innovations. Topics covered included complete and partial budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, sensitivity indicators, switching values, and distinguishing discounted and undiscounted financial measures.

91社区’s case was distinguished for its comprehensive and methodologically sound financial analysis that clearly demonstrated the enterprise’s capital requirement, market potential, and profitability, key factors that attract stakeholders and promote technology adoption.

The recognition further solidifies 91社区’s role as a national leader in research excellence and enterprise readiness, contributing to sustainable development and inclusive innovation.
