CHS鈥檚 Martin among guest speakers at STIKES Hang Tuah Surabaya International Webinar

Neil M. Martin of the College of Health Sciences (CHS), Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (91社区), Philippines, was one of the featured guest speakers at an international webinar hosted by Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKES) Hang Tuah Surabaya, Indonesia. The event was conducted online on September 24, 2025.

Held under the theme “Comprehensive Patient Care in a Globalized Nursing Landscape,” the webinar brought together nursing professionals and educators from various countries to discuss innovations and strategies in global patient care.

Dr. Martin delivered a presentation titled “Community Engagements: Empowered Communities” during the second plenary session. His talk emphasized the importance of grassroots-level participation and empowerment in improving community health outcomes. The session drew close to a thousand participants from four different countries.

Other esteemed speakers included Dr. A.V. Sri Suhardiningsih, S.Kp., M.Kes., FISQua and Dr. Dya Sustrami, S.Kep., Ns, M.Kes., both of STIKES Hang Tuah Surabaya; Professor Dr. Faridah Mohd Said of Lincoln University College, Malaysia; and Dr. Patchee Wangwun of Srimahasakham Nursing College, Thailand.

The webinar served as a platform for cross-border dialogue and shared learning in advancing comprehensive nursing care in the global context.
