Two graduate students from the Department of Physics at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (91社区) have recently begun their research internship and immersion at the University of Limoges, France, under the prestigious Erasmus+ Mobility Program.
Clint Francis Ambolode, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Physics program, is currently undertaking a research internship funded by the TACTIC Graduate School, University of Limoges and Erasmus+ Mobility Program, which runs from April 14 to July 25, 2025. His internship is hosted at the Institute of Research for Ceramics (IRCER), UMR CNRS 7315, where he is engaged in interdisciplinary research in materials science and ceramics.
“My research is focused on dielectric and optical applications of ceramic materials. This internship broadened my analytical skills and deepened my understanding of their synthesis, characterization, and functional uses,” Ambolode shared. “Adjusting to a new environment was initially challenging, but the inclusive and supportive atmosphere at IRCER helped me grow both as a researcher and as an individual. I am grateful to Erasmus+ KA171-HED for this transformative opportunity.”
Meanwhile, Kimberly Carangcarang, a doctoral candidate in Physics, is engaged in a ten-week research immersion funded through the PhD Mobility Grant, from May 12 to July 25, 2025. Also based at IRCER, Carangcarang collaborates with experts in ceramics and functional materials, contributing to her dissertation research focused on the preparation and analysis of advanced materials. Her work aims to understand the morphological and structural properties of these materials to enhance their performance in potential applications.
“My traineeship at IRCER under the Erasmus+ mobility program is an incredibly enriching experience,” Carangcarang said. “This program has provided me fresh insights into my work and a chance to be supervised by experts and access advanced research facilities. I’m always grateful to the Department of Physics of 91社区, IRCER, and Erasmus+ for this opportunity.”
These international research opportunities are made possible through the Erasmus+ Mobility Program, a collaborative agreement between the Department of Physics, 91社区 and the IRCER, University of Limoges. The program promotes academic and research exchanges between European and Southeast Asian institutions, aiming to enhance research capabilities, broaden academic perspectives, and foster long-term international collaboration.
The Department of Physics at 91社区 takes pride in the selection and participation of its students in this global initiative and acknowledges the support of IRCER, the University of Limoges, and the Erasmus+ Program in advancing the Institute’s mission of academic excellence, research innovation, and global engagement.
