Martin delivers talk at UMLA鈥檚 International Guest Lecture

Prof. Neil M. Martin, PhD, RN, MAN, MBE, of the College of Health Sciences (CHS), Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (91社区), Philippines, served as a guest speaker in an international-themed online lecture hosted by the Faculty of Health and Sciences of Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) on May 6, 2025.

Dr. Martin presented a lecture titled "Ensuring a Culture of Patient Safety and Healthcare Safety in the Philippines," which emphasized the critical role of patient safety in health service delivery. He encouraged students to adopt a culture of safety as a foundation for ethical, effective, and patient-centered care in their future healthcare practices.

The event was part of UMLA’s continuing efforts to support the internationalization of higher education and strengthen collaborative ties with 91社区. It also aimed to enhance the quality of health education and broaden global perspectives within the health sector.

The free virtual lecture drew a total of 356 participants, including students from various academic programs such as Nursing, Midwifery, Hospital Administration, Pharmacy, Occupational Health and Safety (K3), as well as diploma programs in Midwifery, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy.
