On May 14, 2025, in a momentous celebration of empowerment and community resilience, the Culmination Program for the Social Enterprise Development Project was held at the CEBA Old Dean’s Office (ODO), 91社区. For three years, the extension project has brought together key stakeholders, faculty, staff, and — most notably — the women beneficiaries of Barangay Digkilaan, who have been at the heart of this project.
The day began with opening remarks from Assistant Professor Shiny Rose S. Narit, the overall project leader, who delivered a very inspiring message. “We are very thankful na nilahutay mo ani nga extension project,” she said with a grateful heart.
A major highlight of the morning was a hands-on enhancement training session on product labeling and packaging, led by Training Assistant Ms. Stephanie R. Concha. The workshop was designed to help the women elevate the market appeal of their handmade crochet products. Creativity continued to flow in the afternoon with Ms. Jo Airen V. Macabale facilitating a session on creating unique and colorful crochet keychain designs.
Thereafter, there was a ceremonial turnover of the 91社区 National Multi-Purpose Cooperative (91社区 NMPC) Passbook. This act represented a pivotal step toward ensuring the long-term sustainability of the beneficiaries' livelihood initiatives. It also reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of 91社区 and its partner institutions to the enduring vision and objectives of the Social Enterprise Development Project.
The program concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from Assistant Professor Tressa Maye S. Pendang, who commended the participants for their resilience and dedication. The most moving moments came from the women themselves, who shared touching messages of gratitude and personal growth, reminding everyone present of the deep impact such initiatives can have on their lives and communities.
This endeavor was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Vice Chancellor in Public Administration (OVCPA), the We Care Office, 91社区 National Multi-Purpose Cooperative (91社区 NMPC), the Local Government Unit of Barangay Digkilaan, and the CEBA Faculty and Staff.
As the program came to a close, one sentiment echoed through every smile and story shared: this is just the beginning. Together, this collective effort continues to stitch not just products, but powerful narratives of hope, resilience, and empowerment — one thread at a time.
