The Master of Science in Physical Education (MSPE) students of the College of Education-Department of Physical Education (CED-DPE) brought pride and academic excellence during the 1st ISTREL Annual Scientific Conference (IASC) 2025, held virtually via Google Meet last April 27, 2025.

Organized by the International Society of Transdisciplinary Researchers, Educators, and Leaders (ISTREL), the conference served as a platform for researchers across the globe to present innovative and meaningful research that bridges theory and practice in physical education and other fields.

Under the guidance of their thesis adviser, Dr. Chiedel Joan G. San Diego, seven MSPE student researchers presented their research work to an international panel and professionals. The participation of MSPE students underscores the wide range of research topics being explored, exemplifying both academic rigor and creative application.

Three students bagged the Best Presenter and Best Abstract awards. The Best Presenter Award was given to Novie Queen T. Magwate for “Development of Podcast for Visually Challenged Learners in Teaching Health-Related Exercises.” Meanwhile, the Best Abstract Award was awarded to Clinton Butch B. Estudillo for “Stepping into Rhythm: Developing TOPROCK, a Dance Training Program for Skill and Style Empowerment” and Grace A. Soliguen for “Digital Usage and Physical Activity Engagement Among Senior High School Students: Basis for an Intervention Program.”

Other MSPE students who presented their research at the said event are as follows: Angel Michelle Tarranza with the study, “Biomechanical Analysis of Common Musculoskeletal Complaints among Housewives: Basis for Rehabilitative Dance Exercise Program”; Hanna Aliyah C. Canoy-Ilupa with the study, “From Classrooms to Courts: Elevating Technical Skills and Competencies of Teacher-Officials”; Je-Ann Uy D. Uy with the study, “FlexiPower: A Holistic Training Plan for Enhancing Strength, Flexibility, and Injury Prevention in Dance Sport Athletes”; and Nathalie C. Casisner with the study, “HIITNIK: A Culturally Inspired HIIT Training Program Integrating Philippine Folk Dance Step for Chronic Disease Prevention among College Students.”

The performance of MSPE students reflects the DPE’s continued commitment to research excellence, transdisciplinary innovation, and empowerment among students. Their overall success emphasizes the 91社区’s role in fostering the skills of future educators and leaders, enabling them to be more capable of shaping the landscape of physical education and wellness across different contexts.
